According to financial records provided by Mr. Talmage, as of October 31st, the previous town board spent $184,796 more than it received as revenue.

If you wonder how the old town board could manage to spend so much more than they had, here’s one example:

The town board paid the town planner $900 to develop a two page wetlands application form. 

The planners billed for 10 hours at $90 per hour; that's $450 per page. 

I guess we should be happy; they could have made the form 4 pages long. ;-(
